Since 1976
Issaquah Singers has performed at senior living centers and
civic events, bringing uplifting, familiar, and inspirational
music to their audiences. Issaquah Singers is a unique
organization. In the greater Seattle area there is no other
choir singing popular music from the 1930¡¦s, 1940¡¦s and
1950¡¦s¡Xmusic that is familiar to folks in senior living centers.
Audiences report that musical
groups come to their senior living homes and perform the notes
perfectly, but they do not always communicate the joy of music
the way Issaquah Singers does. All participants, including the
director and accompanist, volunteer their talents to the efforts
of the choir. There is no charge for concerts which always
include a sing-along.
Choir members range in age from
the 20¡¦s to the 80¡¦s. Prospective members are invited to visit a
few rehearsals before joining. Although no auditions are
required, the ability to match a pitch is essential and previous
choral experience is helpful. Anyone who is interested in
sharing the joy of creating music is welcome to try us out. The
dues that members pay are used to purchase new music. The choir
is partially funded by a grant from the City of Issaquah Arts
Commission.
Rehearsals are Thursday evenings
during the school year from 7:00pm to 9:00pm at the Community
Church of Issaquah at
205 Mt. Park Blvd. SW, Issaquah, Washington.
